Winter Birding with FBC Buffalo

Join FBC Buffalo for a winter bird outing at Beaver Island State Park! Both new and experienced birders of all ages are welcome. We will revel in the beautiful diversity of birds that call the Niagara River region home for winter – including gulls, ducks, swans, and more! All are welcome to join – no birding experience necessary! Binoculars are available for lending on a first-come first-served basis. Our route will consist of approximately 1/2 to 3/4 mile of walking at a slow meandering pace. Please plan for the weather conditions and dress accordingly! We will meet in Lot 1 and walk to the boardwalk along the beach, continue to the lagoon, possibly extending into the woods near Lot 5/Picnic Area 5 before heading back to Lot 1. There is a mild slope along portions of the trail. Most of the trail is flat and varies between paved and gravel surfaces – which may be icy! We may modify our route based on the weather to follow paved trails/roadways only if needed. Feel free to join us for some or all of the time – we look forward to seeing you! Please reach out to us directly if you require additional accessibility accommodations. Registration is required.
