About Us

Feminist Bird Club Buffalo is an inclusive birding group that welcomes all to explore and appreciate local birds. Since 2019, we’ve been sharing knowledge and celebrating the beauty of birds across Western New York.

Feminist Bird Club Buffalo is an affiliate of the Buffalo Museum of Science and Tifft Nature Preserve.

Our History

The Feminist Bird Club was founded in 2016 to create a community at the intersection of nature exploration and social justice. Since its origins in NYC, over 30 chapters have formed around the US and internationally.

The Buffalo Chapter of the Feminist Bird Club was formed in September 2019 and has since embarked on outings across Western New York, from Basom to Niagara Falls. Composed of seasoned birders and the bird-curious, we focus on community building and knowledge sharing. Our chapter celebrates the beauty of common birds and highlights birding opportunities close to home.
